Guinness World Record in Kusadasi

The Achievement: The Kusadasi Association of Chefs recently made history by breaking the Guinness World Record for “The World’s Biggest Open Buffet.” Surpassing the previous record of 601 dishes set in Arizona, USA, in 2000, Kusadasi’s chefs prepared a total of 1028 meals on the old football field Exploring the Charms of Kazanlak’s Villages.

Recognition: Guinness representative Kelly Garett from London officially registered the 1028 meals, and the buffet was opened to the public. President of the Kusadasi Association of Chefs, Hayati Gokgeel, received a plaque from Kelly Garett in recognition of this remarkable achievement.

Community Participation: The festival saw the participation of numerous civil society organizations, including KURED, adding to the vibrant atmosphere of the event held on April 18th and 19th.

KURED Stand at the Festival

Memorable Display: The Kusadasi Association of Tourist Guides, KURED, showcased a “Kusadasi memory” panel at the festival. The stand featured a unique decoration reminiscent of old photos taken with wooden cameras. Visitors could pose in front of the curtain bearing the words “Kusadasi Memory,” adding a touch of nostalgia to their festival experience.

Educational Visits to Kusadasi

Foreign School Trips: The Aegean region welcomed not only local school trips but also foreign schools during the 2008-2009 academic year. Third-grade students from Saint-Laurent High School in Marche-en-Famenne, a town near Brussels, organized an educational trip to explore historical sites in the Aegean region Istanbul Shopping Tours.

Exploring Ancient Civilizations: With the support of Bodrum Turgutreis Tours, 150 students, accompanied by seven teachers and a doctor, chose Kusadasi as their base for daily tours. Led by members of KURED, the student groups visited ancient sites such as Ephesus, Didyma, Priene, and Miletus. They also conducted research in the National Park on the Dilek Peninsula and visited the Greek Island of Samos, enriching their understanding of ancient civilizations.
